Phew.....

Just had to post this as it’s the biggest pot I have ever won in my life……I posted here about another time i had passed a set of Queens to a potential massive bluff. This time i decided to make the call ... I just failed to believe him after his preflop raise.

Well done Ben. Now is the time to buy that new car you've been waiting for !! No doubt your mates will make their suggestions, but mine are an Audi S3 or Honda Civic Type 'R'

No way !! They are too fast for you. You'll soon loose your licence. How about a nice cream Fiesta !!

nice work ben - i'm pretty sure id'a bottled it & raised on 4th street.
what river cards get you laying it down?
cars come & go, get yourself registered for the HU in barcelona & put that staredown to the test

Hi Julian

For some reason i had decided he was bluffing so actually only a 4 or a 5 would have made me lay it down.....

Definitely the biggest bluff i have ever called.

Anon...

I do like the Audi S3 alot. Have to curb my temptation to buy till i return from Mexico/Vegas

Ben,

But dont u think raising the turn was a better play?

Hmmm possibly.

But the way i was reading the hand was that if he had not much i would scare him off if i reraised...

By raising i am only going to probably get called by the made straight if he has it. So after deciding i would call on the river regardless of what card appeared i gave him the opportunity to bluff another wedge at me which is what he did.

I won another 10k pot later on only to lose a mammouth 20k pot... more on that to follow when i can face it.

Still ended up 9k to the good though...... its weird when you win but it feels like you lost.

Also to follow was using something i read in your blog a while ago to win a big pot :-)

But how often is he going to have no outs here? And bet with nothing too on the river?

By playing the hand you do, u have to call him on the river no matter what comes. In a wierd way, he is getting 4 to 1 on his bet. If you raise he may pass some draws or at least you make him play badly for his draws.

I see your point about raising and making him play badly with his draws but this specific player according to my notes could have bluff wildly with absolutely nothing. I had seen him bet 2k before with just K high on the river......

If it had been a foe who i had no notes on i probably would have played the hand completely differently. Plus he had just lost another big pot so i thought he was steaming...... for some reason i thought he may have had lower trips.
